Can Tweeting Get You Fired

Can Tweeting Get You Fired Can Tweeting Get You Fired There has been a great deal of #TwitterBacklash in the previous not many years. Significant brands are running their mouths in 140 characters or less. Some are following through on the cost. Kenneth Cole once tweeted Millions are in mayhem in #Cairo. Gossip is they heard our new spring assortment is presently accessible on the web… On the off chance that a commotion is the thing that KC needed, they assuredly got it. Nothing goes unnoticed on Twitter and a quick outcry marking Cole heartless, among the more pleasant terms constrained the organization to bring down the Tweet, issue two withdrawals and a Facebook statement of regret. Apparently, it was Cole himself who wrote the Tweet so no one's head moved for that one. Fashiontweetsta Style architect Marc Jacobs' CEO Robert Duffy tweets for the organization. A significant part of the draw of Duffy's live continuous flow (@MarcJacobsIntl) is his self-announced absence of channel - I do over offer. Gotta stop. Get myself in a tough situation, Duffy has tweeted before. Duffy reported yesterday, by means of Twitter, that his rule as the organization's mouthpiece will end. There's no sign that Duffy lost his post on account of previously mentioned over sharing. You, be that as it may, may not be as fortunate as these glib heads-of-state. We've all heard the account of the instructor who lost her employment since she called her understudies germbags in her Facebook status. Or then again the man who brought in dreadful sick, however posted subtleties of his wild night prior - just to be terminated the following day. How would you clarify that on your resume? Over-sharing, spilling mysteries, throwing affront or lying appear as though sound judgment rules of web based life one ought not break. But would you say you are submitting quest for new employment mortal sins on the web? You could be. All that you do online is recorded. Kevin Fogarty, creator of Mind Your Social Netiquette reminds work searchers it could be simple to overlook your social abilities. Overlooking a contact's welcome feels less brutal when it's set from 3,000 miles away. Imparting an indecent joke to the gathering appears to be innocuous when it's set on your cell phone between interviews. Yet, censures despite everything sting, and tacky stays thoughtless. Social Net-Jerk Humiliating photographs or comments can surface during your pursuit of employment. Enrollment specialists and recruiting chiefs routinely look person to person communication locales for foundation information, and many will hold photographs of young or inebriated hijinks against them. The exercise? Be cautious what you put out there. My grandma once let me know put nothing down in writing that would make your grandmother wheeze. Grandma didn't have a Twitter account yet I'm certain similar standards apply. In the event that solitary somebody disclosed to Kenneth Cole.

Elevator Pitch I gave one in an elevator, and it workedsort of

Lift Pitch I gave one out of a lift, and it workedâ€"kind of Lift Pitch I gave one out of a lift, and it worked-kind of I like to tell individuals that I once gave an lift contribute a lift, and I got the job.Except, obviously, it wasn't that basic at all.I was assistant at the U.S. State Department when I happened to get onto a lift with one of the editors of the State Department's site. We began talking, and I informed her concerning myself - news-casting understudy, twofold major in worldwide investigations, inspired by writing.Stop the story when the lift entryways opened, and it would seem that an exemplary case of the good old thought of hauling around a 60-second story of self-advancement. In any case, as a general rule, that lift ride was only the beginning of a progressing discussion that at last prompted me composing for the website.Lately, I've been considering that experience and how to establish a decent first connection. What's the most ideal approach to begin a discussion? How would I portray to somebody what I do? Would i be able to offer myself without appearing to gloat or making som ebody's eyes coat over?Should I set up a lift pitch? The lift discourse is dead, Sam Horn, the organizer and CEO of the Intrigue Agency and creator of Got Your Attention?: How to Create Intrigue and Connect, let me know. Do you know any individual who preferences tuning in to a discourse? It's single direction communication. In a world loaded up with what Horn calls infobesity, or data that goes in one ear and out the other, the obsolete strategy of introducing a clothing rundown of positions and achievements won't help work searchers and organizers slice through the clamor, Horn said.We would prefer not to become mixed up in the group, she said. We will probably wonderfully amaze leaders with pertinent models that talk straightforwardly to their necessities and priorities. What should we do instead? When individuals ask what you do, don't let them know, Horn said. It might sound illogical, however expressing your activity title or listing your obligations just serves to end the discuss ion and dangers having individuals block you out. This is particularly valid for the individuals who are at present jobless or searching for a change.Instead, offer explicit models that show how you have offered some benefit or had any kind of effect in your past encounters, Horn said. Answer the inquiry: What are the aftereffects of what you do that we can see or smell or taste or touch? And then pose inquiries to assist audience members with identifying with your job. Two extraordinary approaches to take part in discussions are to pose inquiries that start with have you ever and did you know, Horn said. Now, when I recollect that lift ride toward the beginning of my profession, I need to recognize that the main thing that made my outline a lift pitch was its locale. The genuine magic came from what occurred straightaway: a significant discussion where I gave instances of the composing I'd done and asked mindful questions. How does this assistance me today?I will most likely be unable to recount to that story in an incredible same manner again, however in any event now I realize what not to do whenever I go to a systems administration occasion - or get in a lift.

5 Job Search Activities That Will Keep Your Momentum Up, Even If You Slow Down

5 Job Search Activities That Will Keep Your Momentum Up, Even If You Slow Down   Now that Memorial Day Weekend is passed, we are ready to get into summer mode. We think we’ll be so productive, but let’s be real â€" we’ve been productive all year and it’s time to have fun.   Go ahead! Enjoy! Get to the beach, eat barbeque, drink frosty cocktails, pick up a good book, hit the pool, or travel. A major benefit of coaching my clients in job searching is so that they spend LESS time getting MORE results. That leaves them more time for the good things in life. No matter what you decide to make a priority for your summer, there are 5* kinds of job search activities that, if you do them at least once a week, will help you maintain and even build momentum while you enjoy your summer. *Caveat: This is all assuming that your résumé, LinkedIn profile, bio and call to action powerfully make clear why you are the candidate that employers need to snatch up before the competition gets you! If you haven’t done these, then add one more activity to this list â€" Schedule a free branding breakthrough consultation with Epic Careering. Pick one activity per day or set aside a couple of hours every day so you can fit in all 5 each day. Manage your energy well, and continue to manage your calendar â€" put these things your schedule, but feel free to schedule around fun. Allow yourself to be present for your summer and your loved ones. Notice that none of these activities include checking job boards or filling out online applications. That is because neither of these activities are high impact, yet they are what everyone feels compelled to do, as though they can check the “done” box on job search activity. You can do that, but know that it won’t afford you the time to enjoy your summer. In fact, spending your time this way is a recipe for lack of results, frustration, questioning self-worth and viability of landing a job, even depression and anxiety. Getting results is so much more fun than not getting results. A couple of recruiters in my network reported that hiring did NOT slow down last summer and there are signs that this summer will be just as busy. September is the 2nd busiest hiring month (behind January.)  Keep up the great work so you can do great work! Alice Cooper â€" School’s Out [Lyrics] â€"â€" ENJOY! Karen Huller, author of  Laser-sharp Career Focus: Pinpoint your Purpose and Passion in 30 Days  (bit.ly/GetFocusIn30), is founder of Epic Careering, a corporate consulting and career management firm specializing in executive branding and conscious culture, as well as JoMo Rising, LLC, a workflow gamification company that turns work into productive play.   While the bulk of her 20 years of professional experience has been within the recruiting and employment industry, her publications, presentations, and coaching also draw from experience in personal development, performance, broadcasting, marketing, and sales.   Karen was one of the first LinkedIn trainers and is known widely for her ability to identify and develop new trends in hiring and careering. 9 Reasons Your Company Performs So Many Employee Autopsies

9 Reasons Your Company Performs So Many Employee Autopsies 9 Reasons Your Company Performs So Many Employee Autopsies Do you remember the days when employees stayed at a company so long they started naming their children after each other? They had dinner at each other’s houses. This is back when they had lunchtime drafts and I’m not talking about the ones that land you in the military. They collected the gold watches. Of course you don’t. Nowadays, half the world’s employees work in a coffee bar. People lean over toward their neighbor and say, “I’ve seen you here all week. What do you do professionally? Hmm. Do you have a card? I’ll give you a call next week about that opening you mentioned at your company. I’ve been at mine two years and I think it’s time for a change.” These types of exchanges aren’t the only reason companies do so many employee autopsies. Here are nine  more. It’s Wednesday at 5:00 PM and you want to know why she isn’t at her desk. If you ever have a thought such as it’s 5:00 PM and I wonder where she is, your next thought ought to be I’m probably wondering that because I did such as lousy job hiring. Hire the right employee who you can trust and you’ll never have time to ask yourself where she is at 5:00 PM because you’ll be too busy wondering how she produces such fantastic ! It’s Saturday (pick any time) and you’re upset he didn’t respond to the email you sent five minutes ago. If why doesn’t everyone work the weekend is on your top three pet peeves, I think you should work in a bar. No. Not a coffee bar. An actual bar. You never say thanks on any day of the week. Feeling appreciated is one of the most important happiness factors to any employee. There are many ways to show itâ€"pay raises, bonuses, new opportunities, additional training, gift cards, a plant on the desk, so on and so forth. I also find a simple, “Thank you so much for your effort. I want you to know how much I truly appreciate it,” is priceless. You haven’t given your employees a pay raise in over two years. Nay the tough economic markets where you need to be creative when business isn’t booming, but in normal and heated economic and employment markets you better consider this a grave issue. You play favorites and you don’t even hide it well. I realize favorites sometimes become favorites for good reason, but let’s keep the scales balances a bit. You not only don’t communicate, but you flat out lie. Employees know whenever everything isn’t “fine.” Your “bosses” shouldn’t be bosses. My company milewalk keeps statistics for every imaginable employment-related item. I could probably tell you how many flies enter your building during lunchtime based on the number of employees you allow to leave your premises during that hour. Based on our assessment of over 11,000 candidates, 80% cited their boss as one of the top three reasons they’d be opening to leaving their current job (or left their previous one). If four out of five people are willing to leave their job because of their boss, don’t you think you should have, build, or train good bosses? Your corporate culture is based on fear. Passive-aggressive, do-as-I-say, and you’re-really-in-trouble-now environments never work. They n-e-v-e-r work because people don’t respond well long-term to these types of treatment. Show a little love, trust, support, positive energy, and good cheer and your employees will respond. Your recruitment process stinks. Pick the right employees and they can practically run themselves. Pick the wrong ones and you’ll pay the price in the short, mid, and long terms. I’ve written so many articles on how to improve this item, go grab a few or call me. If you enjoyed this article, you can find other wonderful tips and tricks related to life and work via the usual social spots at LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. As always, I give away a complimentary Interview Intervention eBook if you sign up for the milewalk newsletter on the front page of the milewalk Website! The perils of achievement

The hazards of accomplishment The hazards of accomplishment A ton of the things we need in life stem from our need for stability. Most youngsters settle on basic choices about their future lives and professions dependent on factors that they expect will give them some sense of predictability.Follow Ladders on Flipboard!Follow Ladders' magazines on Flipboard covering Happiness, Productivity, Job Satisfaction, Neuroscience, and more!Similarly, numerous grown-ups make progress toward budgetary opportunity, so they don't need to consider cash something that deters them from completely controlling their lives. We dream about the white picket fence, a protected job, and a great vehicle or two in the carport so we can be certain that we have a type of establishment on which to assemble our lives. We need security, and we desire request, and we make a peaceful assumption that our accomplishments will get us there. It bodes well, as well. On the off chance that we didn't have this direction and on the off chance that we didn't have a strong establishment , we'd be constantly presented to tumult and vulnerability, and we would have an a lot harder time feeling grounded and safe. There are numerous individuals that don't have any kind of security in their lives - individuals that are poor or individuals without solid vocation possibilities, for instance - that we can look to who promise us that these things are worth having.Yet, in our current reality where, luckily, a larger number of individuals than not have a grounded foundation giving this solidness, we despite everything see enormous scope disappointment, weariness, and a general feeling of purposelessness. This feeling of disappointment, fatigue, and purposelessness might be temporarily subdued when we end up making progress toward the following thing that we assume will bring us soundness, yet for some, it's as yet not very far away. What precisely are we missing? The Hidden Curse of AchievementLet's separate the procedure of accomplishment into two distinctive states. There is a c ondition of striving where we are moving and moving in the direction of an objective. And afterward there is a condition of accomplishment after having accomplished said objective, hence accomplishing a type of stability. The general supposition we as a whole make is that accomplishing this dependability is the thing that will make us satisfied. After all, that is the concealed reason behind whatever objectives we decide to characterize when we conclude that we need something.First, we conclude that a specific future will make us happier. At that point, we pick a specific point which we feel will permit us to encounter said future. At last, we set ourselves on our approach to making sense of how to get to that goal.By definition, then, when we are endeavoring - which is a large portion of the time -we are in a province of instability. When we achieve something, we gain ourselves steadiness. That is how most of us instinctively ponder this process.Except, that's not how it truly works . The oddity is that accomplishing an objective is the thing that prompts insecurity, while the state of endeavoring gives stability.Once we achieve something, we lose our feeling of direction and get influenced towards the disarray that we normally fear. On the other hand, while there is inconvenience in the demonstration of striving -which we mistake for shakiness - it's incidentally the main thing that really keeps us grounded over time.Being in a condition of unchallenged development is the thing that shields us from feeling that we are without a foundation. Achievement, be that as it may, is static. When obtained, it blurs towards instability.Volatility as a Measure of Well-BeingIn finance, volatility is basically a proportion of how much the profits of an advantage are relied upon to stray. It's the variety in cost over a set period. The every day contrast between the end cost of a stock, for instance, could be something you may gauge the unpredictability of. On the off chance that it goes astray a ton, at that point the unpredictability of that stock is high. On the off chance that it doesn't veer off a lot, at that point it's low.According to the creator and analyst Nassim Taleb, systems of any sort with no instability are terrible at retaining stuns, and in this way fragile. Systems with some time or another to day unstable, nonetheless, can utilize such development to ingest stuns well, and now and again, even advantage from them. It's what he calls antifragility. When we are in a condition of endeavoring, we are continually progressing over a supported timeframe. Every so often, we move a great deal. Different days, not all that much.On an everyday premise, this development may even be awkward, yet after some time, it keeps us stable by shielding us from the bedlam of disorientation. In a condition of achievement, in any case, we don't move much by any stretch of the imagination. We've accomplished what we needed to, expecting we have gained a feeling of stability. On an everyday premise, we may even appreciate this absence of development, however after some time, if the absence of direction makes up for lost time to us, it quickly tosses us into a condition of unsteadiness, causing harm that we don't see coming.Humans, as most frameworks of the world, need a level of unpredictability to remain healthy and being in a position where you have all that you would ever need makes you delicate to the precariousness that we intuitively plan to avoid. Not having each extravagance of dependability, incidentally, is the thing that keeps us stable.Where's the Balance?Naturally, regardless of what the framework, an excess of instability would itself be able to be unsafe. Having a type of an establishment is necessary. If we don't totally confine drawback, at that point that equivalent unpredictability can stun itself out of brief and changing shakiness into complete chaos.Humans need some establishment of accomplishment, and we clearly need a s ignificant number of our essential needs met so as to have a taken shots at happiness. Getting a portion of the things we need is sound and important. That said, the presumption that once we have all that we can envision and need, we will be fulfilled past our present level is more than flawed. While things like total money related opportunity or a profession that goes entirely as indicated by plan can bring a great deal of happiness and incentive to numerous individuals, these equivalent things can likewise by implication cause a ton of misery. And they frequently do.It's anything but difficult to perceive how not having enough can be an issue, yet it's considerably simpler to neglect how getting what you need may be comparatively problematic.Sometimes, what you don't have is similarly as significant as what you do have. This article initially showed up on Design Luck. Recruitment Marketing vs. Employer Branding Whats the Difference

Recruitment Marketing vs. Employer Branding What’s the Difference Reading them youd think they are the same thing but are they? Some would argue there are some similarities in their function and others would claim they are completely different and a business needs both. Our expert panel tell us whether they think there is a difference between recruitment marketing and employer branding have a read and see whether you agree or disagree. Joe Shaker Recruitment marketing and employer branding are so interconnected.   It’s imperative to have both.   Employer Branding is defining who you are, what makes you different and the value you can bring to candidates in an ownable and clear way.   Recruitment Marketing is what you then do with that message â€" how you develop your candidate experience with that message in mind and the media you enlist.   You really can’t have one without the other. Joe Shaker is the President of Shaker Recruitment Marketing. Maren Hogan Recruitment marketing is attracting someone to a specific role, at a specific place, on a specific team, for a specific set of responsibilities. Employer brand is more about the promise the company is making to its current and future employees en masse. Nike might be a great and exciting place to work and an easy sell for a shoe designer. Their employer brand has a lot of cache, but for the custodial engineer, the sell is different and requires a more tactical approach that discusses the meaning and responsibilities of that particular job. Maren Hogan  is CEO and Founder of Red Branch Media. Jared Nypen Employer branding is an employer’s reputation as an employer and typically includes an employee value proposition, or key pillars as to why people want to work there and what the company is trying to sell to potential employees. Recruitment marketing is the marketing of that brand to attract job candidates. . Jared Nypen is the Vice-President of talent at Great Clips inc. Lisa Jones This is a whole blog in itself but a wise man once said to me your brand is what people say about you when youve left the room perhaps marketing is what you want them to say about you? . . Lisa Jones is the  Founder and Director of Barclay Jones. Mark Cavanagh Employer brand can be described as a ship on which all Recruitment, HR and Talent Professionals are aboard, by using the tools of Recruitment Marketing (the sails and a rudder) the shipmates can attempt to steer the ship towards its goal destination of becoming a truly attractive employer brand. Much like the sails or a rudder, Recruitment Marketing can have a fantastic impact on the success or direction of an employer brand, however, where the difference lies in an employer brand is that it can also be heavily influenced by external factors; a wave of opinion, reviews or peer-to-peer discussion can elevate or devastate a brand regardless of marketing efforts. Mark Cavanagh is the Marketing Manager at The One Group. Charlotte Jones When we look at the talent acquisition funnel: awareness, attraction, engagement, interviews, offers, hires, employer branding is at the top of the funnel. Employer branding is about top of the funnel: creating awareness and influencing perceptions with recruitment marketing activity. Although we can influence the brand from an intentional management standpoint, the employer brand reflects the prospective and current employee perceptions that are based on experiences. Recruitment Marketing is activity that represents the middle to the bottom of the funnel that represents improving talent pipelines: promoting careers, experiences through media planning and implementation, engagement through social and digital channels. Charlotte  Jones is theRecruitment Marketing Manager at Lockheed Martin. Phil Strazzulla If you want to get academic or zealous about it, there are differences and mirror the differences between regular marketing (analytical, easy to measure ROI) and branding (more the way a given company makes you feel than the CPC of a FB ad). However, I use the terms interchangeably and I dont believe were at a point in time where it makes sense to make a large distinction between the two given that most companies are looking to get started on the VERY basics of building a strong employer brand and using basic recruitment marketing tactics to drive more relevant candidates. Phil Strazzulla is the Founder of NextWave Hire. Shelby Burghardt I think the easiest way to understand the difference between Recruitment Marketing and Employer Branding is by thinking of your Employer Brand as your company reputation as an employer (why you’re a great place to work) and your Recruitment Marketing strategy is how you show you’re a great place to work by providing examples across many channels including your career site, social media, job boards, etc. Shelby Burghardt is the Global Talent Brand Manager at Thomson Reuters. Rebecca Drew Recruitment marketing and employer branding have a complex relationship: both deal with talent attraction, communication and recruitment but they are distinct in how they achieve their goals. For me, the simplest way to understand the difference is that employer branding crafts a company identity that encapsulates what the company stands for, and makes a company easily recognisable against its competitors. Recruitment marketing is taking this talent brand and using ir to appeal to, and stand out to, potential candidates. The two are becoming increasingly intertwined, as experienced by Siemens, who found that social media meant they didn’t ‘own’ their employer brand in the way that they used to. Instead, it has become a mix of what they say, their employees say and their candidates have to say, resulting in a much more blurred line between the employer brand and the recruitment marketing process. Rebecca Drew is a Manager at LinkedIn Talent Solutions. Bennett Sung Employer branding is a core pillar of an employer’s recruitment marketing strategy. Specifically, it humanizes an organization’s culture, teams, and roles across a range of job seeker personas through an extension of a corporation’s brand voice and visual identity. Employment branding transcends across the recruitment marketing pillars including thought leadership, candidate relationship acquisition management, and content. Bennett Sung is the Head of Marketing at Allyo.

How to Make LinkedIn and Your Resume Work Together

How to Make LinkedIn and Your Resume Work Together It is a known fact that when it comes to employment, being hired is not always dependent on what you know but often times it’s who you know that can be your biggest asset. That’s why you always hear people talking about the importance of networking. LinkedIn is an excellent website created specifically for professional networking but some users just aren’t using it to its fullest potential. In comparing your LinkedIn page to a sandwich your resume would be the bread and your profile page  would be the meat. The bread might come first, but the meat is the star of the show. Try adding your LinkedIn profile link to the bottom of your resume and encourage potential employers to check it out when you submit a cover letter or get interviewed. Your profile not only illustrates your experience but it also shows people you may have in common, provides a complete work history, links out to other things youve done, lists recommendations from former colleagues, and much more. Your LinkedIn page is your opportunity to expand your resume and get all of your great accomplishments that may not fit onto the resume. Here are some tips to help beef up your LinkedIn profile and impress your future employer. Take time to set up your LinkedIn profile page: The biggest mistake (I should say one of the biggest as others come to mind) you can make on LinkedIn is to fill only the required information and upload your resume then leave it alone. Even if your resume was more robust than most of the others you would run the risk of never giving it a chance to be seen. Companies search for different skills they are looking for in prospective employees. You have the opportunity to add keywords and skills onto your profile. Doing so will increase your chances of being seen by employers and give you a shot at being hired. You never know what may stick out. Something like being alumni from the same school as the person in charge of hiring can give you an edge over the competition. Maybe you and the person in charge of hiring both graduated with an online degree and share the bond of online learning  you never know. Here are 10 Tips To Spruce Up Your LinkedIn Profile. Network on the site: LinkedIn is a site created to promote and facilitate professional networking online, but some of the people who have profiles only created it to post a resume. That is defeating the entire purpose. Add contacts that you have worked with in the past, people you know well and would do business with in the future. Again, they may be searching for a job just like you but they may also know someone of influence in the field you are looking to enter. They can pass your name on, if your profile is completely filled out with relevant information, you just may get considered. Give yourself every opportunity to be seen. Check out the 21 Ways To Build Your Personal Brand on LinkedIn. Beef up your page: Make use of the recommendation section on your profile page. Reach out to current and former professors, managers and co-workers who can put in a good word for you. Telling people about yourself is good, but when they are able to see great things written about you from others it is even better. Getting a recommendation from a person with an excellent reputation is always a positive thing and can only help you. Be sure to have your resume current with your most recent work experience and skills you have acquired. Your resume and your profile page should tell your story and sell you before you have the opportunity to do so in an interview. Make sure both are presentable and professional looking so you don’t sell yourself short. Author: Jesse Langley lives near Chicago. He divides his time among work, writing and family life. Smartphone Etiquette at Work Whats That

Smartphone Etiquette at Work Whats That Smartphones have changed the way many Americans work. They quicken communication, they allow coworkers to reach out and respond to problems even while they are out of the office, and they let many take work home with them. But it’s nearly impossible to distinguish if someone is using their smartphone at the office for work purposes, or for personal reasons. A  new survey  by KDM Engineering on smartphone etiquette in the workplace revealed that the majority of Americans share an understanding of what is appropriate smartphone etiquette at work, but they don’t always follow those rules. For example, 61-percent of people say they check their smartphone at least once an hour at work, with 20-percent of people saying they look every 20 minutes, and two-percent saying they never put down their devices. Only 10 percent of people said they check their phone twice a day. While more than three-quarters of survey respondents say they go so far as to bring their smartphone with them into the bathroom while at work. Smartphones and Meetings When it comes to smartphone etiquette and meetings, most people are on the same page. Seven out of 10 people admit it is inappropriate to have their smartphone out during a meeting, but more than half (53%) still do it anyway. Even more people, eight out of 10, say it’s inappropriate to physically check their phone during a meeting, but half (50%) say they do it anyway. A shocking 10-percent of respondents said they brazenly had their smartphone out and visible during an initial interview for a new position. These results are not entirely shocking. According to KDM Engineering, people assume they use their phones way less than they actually do. The average smartphone user taps, touches or swipes their phone a whopping 2,617 times per day, when survey respondents estimated they touch their phone 100 times or less per day. A Healthy Diet Foods To Reverse Aging - Classy Career Girl

A Healthy Diet Foods To Reverse Aging Aging may be upsetting for many people because of the wrinkles, saggy skin, slower movement, joint pains, memory gap and a host of other things. But, there are a number of things you can do to improve how you age later in life.   Making better lifestyle choices, including engaging in more physical activities, breaking your smoking habit, getting more sleep and sticking to just one or two cups of alcohol.   One of the best places to start is in giving your diet a revamp and a major makeover. The Best Anti-Aging Nutrients For Your Diet Below are the 10 nutrients you should prioritize in your anti-aging diet.   Get these in and in the right amounts and not only will you be shedding pounds but you will also get great looking skin:   Fiber. Eat more fresh produce.   Make sure that your diet is comprised mostly of vegetable, fruits and whole grains.   Refrain from eating white rice and white bread which can easily make your sugar spike. Too much sugar in your body can loosen up your skin and make it break.  Other than keeping your skin healthy, fiber also keeps your digestive tract, excretory system and circulatory system functioning optimally. Omega-3 fatty acids. Even the World Health Organization recommends that you get a small amount of fat into your diet too.   Fatty fish such as salmon, tuna and sardines contain high levels of healthy cholesterol, as well as almonds and walnuts.  Incorporate moderate amounts of these foods into your diet. Antioxidants. Your richest sources of these free-radical fighting nutrients are your berries, citrus fruits, and fresh vegetables.   Antioxidants are good in your anti-wrinkle cream  too. Calcium. Give yourself a better chance at fighting bone loss and osteoporosis.   Include yogurt, the better dairy, in your diet.   It is not only rich in calcium but also contains lactobacilli which promotes healthier digestion, particularly important among older people with slower metabolism. Phytoceramides. Brown rice, beets and wheat germ contain high levels of phytoceramides.   These nutrients can be utilized by the body to make up for lower levels of ceramides produced by the skin.   Ceramides serve to rebuild and restructure the outer layer of the skin to protect it and keep moisture locked within. Niacinamide. Also known as Vitamin B3, this can be derived in high amounts from animal internal organs like liver and kidneys.   Bran and tuna are also good sources.   This nutrient enhances blood circulation and helps keep your veins healthy. Vitamin C. This vitamin does more than just improve your immune response, it also powers up your cells to set off more efficient processes that support skin repair and regeneration.   Get this from citrus fruits. Vitamin E. This vitamin not only keeps your skin nourished but it has also been found to have strong anti-inflammatory properties that protect your organs from damage and deterioration.   It aids in protecting your eyes from macular degeneration and even promotes a  healthy heart.   Get high levels of this good vitamin from almonds and walnuts. Amino acids. The building blocks of protein, amino acids support optimal cell repair and renewal functions.   Derive high levels of these body builders from eggs, meat products, soy and seeds. Potassium. Maintain proper body coordination by ensuring you get enough potassium in your diet.   Load up on poultry, potatoes, and beans.   These foods help regulate sodium in your blood as well as prevents water retention. [RELATED: How to Find Time to Workout] Enhance Your Diet   Revamp your lifestyle even more to enhance the effects of your anti-aging diet.   You should also: Live a more active lifestyle. Get these nutrients where they need to be by improving your blood circulation through exercise. Get enough sleep. If you want to keep your cells healthy, you must try harder to go to bed on time. Tackle your bad habits once and for all. If you still smoke, it’s time to quit.   It’s also time to reduce your alcohol intake. Take on a more optimistic outlook in life. Spend more time having a good time. Have a good laugh with your significant other and keep showing people you love that you love them.   Aging should be welcomed with open arms â€" if only for the fact that there’s no turning back and that,  and you get to experience more to life as a mature adult. Isnt that more fun than when you were a teen?
